Wridhhiman undergoes shoulder surgery in England

A labral repair surgery has been performed on Saha's shoulder by Dr Lennard Funk

While the Indian cricket team took the field against England in the first Test at Edgbaston on Thursday, a major development regarding wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

After getting dropped from the current Test squad due to injury, Saha underwent a shoulder surgery in Manchester today. The Indian cricket board took to its official Twitter handle to share the picture of the Indian wicketkeeper and wished him a speedy recovery.

Here's the Post:

Earlier on July 21, the BCCI confirmed his injury in a press release. Later, the 33-year-old wicketkeeper was ruled out of the 5-match Test series against England.

The BCCI stated that Saha sustained a ‘posterosuperior labral tear’ and the injury will require surgery. The labral repair surgery will be done by Dr Lennard Funk in Manchester, UK.

The entire course of treatment and consultation carried out at the NCA was performed in coordination with the India Team management and the GM of Operations.
