Women's T20 WC | Get the Cup Home: Edulji After India Beat Australia

"Great win. Congratulations. Well bowled Poonam Yadav. Batters have to come to the party too. 170 plus score a must. Go India get the Cup home," Edulji told IANS.

Former captain Diana Edulji hailed India's stunning 17-run victory in the Women's T20 World Cup opener against holders Australia, but added that the batters also need to come to the party going forward. "Great win. Congratulations. Well bowled Poonam Yadav. Batters have to come to the party too. 170 plus score a must. Go India get the Cup home," Edulji told IANS. A brilliant spell of wrist spin from Poonam Yadav (4/19) sank four-time champions Australia on the opening night at the Sydney Showgrounds, as India defended a low score of 132 to set the marker going ahead. Australia were all out for just 115 as pacer Shikha Pandey (3/14) also contributed to the win after the batters' modest effort. The Harmanpreet Kaur led side will next take on Bangladesh on February 24 at Perth.
