Women's World Cup 2022: Shamilia Connell Of WI Collapses On Field, Taken To Hospital

West Indies fast bowler Shamilia Connell suddenly fell on the field during Bangladesh's innings in the Women's World Cup match on Friday.

West Indies fast bowler Shamilia Connell collapsed on the field during Bangladesh's innings in the Women's World Cup match on Friday and had to be taken to a hospital.

The reason behind her collapse is still not known. When she fell down while fielding during the 47th over of Bangladesh's innings, her teammates ran towards her. Later, Connell got up and got on the ambulance herself.

Before being taken to the hospital, the medical team examined her on the field itself, due to which the game was stopped for some time.

West Indies women later went on to win the match by 4 runs.

It is worth noting that the West Indies spinners kept their patience in these difficult moments and successfully defended the low score to give their team a splendid four-run victory over Bangladesh in the Women's World Cup cricket.

The West Indies, when invited to bat first, could only manage 140 for nine in the 50 overs despite Stephanie Campbell's unbeaten half-century. Bangladesh needed eight runs to win in the last over but only one wicket was left. In the end, the team was bowled out for 136 in 49.3 overs.

This is West Indies' third win in five matches, which has overtaken India to reach the third spot. Bangladesh suffered its third defeat in four matches.
