Mumbai Indians Break Silence On Speculations About Suryakumar Yadav Leaving Franchise Ahead Of IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians have reportedly broken silence on rumours around Suryakumar Yadav leaving the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 season.

After Mumbai India’s disastrous run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024, the franchise was caught amid various rumours of all sorts. Mumbai, led by Hardik Pandya, finished last in the IPL 2024 season and were the first team to be knocked out of the tournament. They could only manage to win four out of the 14 matches that they played. Following MI’s disappointing performance, the cricket world was abuzz with rumours, including speculations that Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and even Suryakumar Yadav might depart from the team ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

While there’s no word from the franchise over Rohit and Bumrah’s future with the team, MI have reportedly suggested that rumours around Suryakumar departing from the franchise are merely speculations on social media to garner engagement, nothing more.

MI's Captaincy Shake-Up Leads To Speculation About Player Departures

Ahead of the IPL 2024 season, MI made a surprising decision by replacing five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as the team’s new skipper. This move sparked widespread outrage among fans, who expressed their displeasure with the franchise. Hardik faced significant backlash, being booed at every MI match, which seemingly affected him negatively and led to some questionable captaincy decisions under the pressure.

Amidst all this, there were also reports that Rohit was unhappy with MI’s decision of his removal from the captaincy, leading to rumours of him potentially moving to another franchise ahead of the IPL 2025.
