What Is The Final Day For Teams To Finalise Their ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 Squads? All You Need To Know

ODI World Cup 2023: The ten-team tournament will be played from October 5 to November 18 across 10 Indian venues.

For the first time ever, India will be hosting the ICC Men's ODI World Cup in cricketing history, without any co-hosts, and the 2023 edition of the marquee tournament is scheduled to be held here from October 5 to November 18. A total number of 48 matches will be played in the ten-team tournament across 10 Indian venues. Each team will play nine matches in the league stage after which the top four teams will square off in the semi-finals. After much delay, the Board of Control for Cricket in India and ICC announced the schedule for 2023 ODI World Cup on June 27. However, some modifications were made to the same recently, with 9 matches including the blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash being rescheduled. IND vs PAK ODI World Cup 2023 match, initially to be played on October 15, will now be played on October 14.

Accordingly, the first match of 2023 ODI World Cup will be played on October 5 between defending champions England and runners-up New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The same city will also host the ODI World Cup 2023 final, while the semifinals will be played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium and Kolkata's Eden Gardens. Team India will kickoff their ODI World Cup campaign with a match against Australia in Chennai on October 9.

What is the final date for all ODI World Cup 2023 participating teams to announce their World Cup squads?

As far as the squad announcement is concerned, according to ICC guidelines, all participating nations have to submit their initial 15-members list for the World Cup by September 5. Changes in the preliminary list will be allowed till September 27 i.e. all 10 teams must finalise their squads before September 28.

Australia first team to announce their ODI World Cup 2023 squad

Five-time World Cup winners Australia recently announced their preliminary 18-member squad for ODI World Cup 2023. Pat Cummins has been named as the captain and star player Marnus Labuschagne's exclsuion is the biggest talking point.
