West Indies Players 'Run Around The Gabba' After Shamar Joseph Cleans Up Josh Hazlewood To Seal Historic Win- WATCH

AUS vs WI, 2nd Test: West Indies players were pumped after a historic win over Australia at their own backyard and celebrating by running around the park.

West Indies made January 28 a memorable day in their cricketing history as they completed a historic victory over West Indies in the second Test match of the two-match Test series at the Gabba in Brisbane. The hero for the touring contingent was Shamar Joseph who produced a seven-wicket haul to star in West Indies' first Test win on Australian soil since 1996-97. Joseph finished with figures of 7/58 and it was fitting then that he got rid of the last Australian batter Josh Hazlewood, cleaning him up with a peach of a delivery.

As soon as West Indies beat Australia by eight runs to complete a series-levelling win, the Men from the Caribbean Islands, started 'running around the Gabba' as described by commentator Ian Smith who was on air when the last Australian wicket fell. It was an animated celebration from a team that was written off but went on to stun the hosts at their own backyard.

The video of West Indies' celebration post Joseph getting rid of Hazlewood has gone viral on social media.

Shamar Joseph Recognised With Double Honour

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Shamar Joseph was recognised not only with the Player Of the Match award but also with the Player Of the Series trophy. The 24-year-old right-arm speedster finished the series with 13 wickets to his credit, 8 of which came in the second Test alone. He also chipped in with 57 runs with the bat. Joseph was one of the seven uncapped players that the visitors had included in their Test squad and it was reckoned that given the inexperience in their side, they would be no match for Australia. West Indies will leave Australian shores without having lost the Test series for the first time since their 1992-93 tour.

With the Test series now done and dusted, Australia and West Indies will now lock horns in a three-match ODI series, followed by a three-match T20I series. The first of the three ODIs begins in Melbourne on February 2 (Friday).
