WATCH: Umpiring howler gets Ashwin angry, De Villiers in splits

During the strategic timeout, Ankit Rajpoot was meant to bowl the 14th over but realisd that he did not had the ball to do so. Clearly very unhappy with the proceedings, KXIP skipper seemed angry as he had an exchange with umpire Shamsuddin

A funny incident took place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab when umpire Shamshuddin put the ball in his pocket and then forgot all about it. During the strategic timeout, Ankit Rajpoot was meant to bowl the 14th over but realisd that he did not had the ball to do so. Clearly very unhappy with the proceedings, KXIP skipper seemed angry as he had an exchange with umpire Shamsuddin. While Ashwin and fans were amused and were having a tough time, RCB’s AB de Villiers was seen having a good laugh. However, thanks to the TV cameras, action replays showed that umpire Shamsuddin had put the ball in his pocket after umpire Bruce Oxenford had earlier handed him the bowl at the end of the 13th over. Thanks to the on-field drama, the play was held up for two minutes. Some outstanding bowling performance and brilliant knock by star batsman AB de Villiers' (82* off 44 balls) helped Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kings XI Punjab by 17 runs on Wednesday.
