Watch: Sunil Gavaskar's Special Moment At Queens Park Cricket Club During 100th Test Between India And West Indies

Gavaskar had outstanding numbers against West Indies as in 27 Test matches he collected 2749 runs at an astonishing average of 65.45.

Since the Indian team is locking horns against West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad, marking the 100th Test between the two teams, former India legend Sunil Gavaskar was felicitated by the Queen’s Park Cricket Club. Cricketer turned commentator posted a video on his social media handles where he was spotted receiving a memento by Queen’s Park Cricket Club officials during the 100th India-West Indies Test.  Former India cricketer also posted a few photographs with Brian Lara.

“With the ‘Prince of Trinidad’, Brian Lara, and Nigel Camacho, president of QPCC, after the lovely felicitation by Queens Park Cricket Club in Trinidad. My home away from home. Much love and gratitude to my West Indian fans,” wrote Gavaskar on Instagram.

Gavaskar had outstanding numbers against West Indies as in 27 Test matches he collected 2749 runs at an astonishing average of 65.45 with the help of 13 centuries and seven half-centuries against West Indies. His highest score in Test cricket 236 also came up against the Caribbean team. Both teams are locking horns against each other for the 100th time as the first match was held back in Delhi in November 1948. Earlier, Gavaskar also recollected a few moments during his playing days in the Windies.

“It is where I went for my first tour and I know a lot of people there. I know the kind of legacy those wonderful cricketers left behind. There’s a pretty laid-back temperament which is fantastic but when it comes to playing sometimes a laid-back temperament might not get you much results. To Clive Lloyds, Malcolm Marshalls, Viv Richards, Andy Roberts, Michael Holdings, Garners, the wonderful era for West Indies Test cricket, every Test match that they played, was extra income,” he said during The Indian Express Idea Exchange.
