WATCH: 'Ranchi's very own' Dhoni receives a warm welcome

Virat Kohli & Co. would like to win the third one-day encounter to take an unassailable 3-0 series lead at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi — the hometown of Dhoni

After winning the second ODI by 8 runs against Aussies in Nagpur, India now will face the tourists in third match of the five one-day match series at Ranchi. The Indian team leads 2-0 and Virat Kohli & Co. would like to win the third one-day encounter to take an unassailable 3-0 series lead at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi — the hometown of Dhoni.

Home favourite Dhoni received a warm welcome from the crowd as players of India and Australia cricket teams reached Ranchi for the third One-day International.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) uploaded a video of Dhoni making his way out of the airport. The post read: “Ranchi - Look who’s here - @msdhoni #TeamIndia #INDvAUS.”

Earlier, India skipper Virat Kohli had lauded Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav, who produced a clinical batting performance to help India attain a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, during the second ODI on Tuesday, the World cup winning captain registered a golden duck for the first time in his ODI career after almost nine years.

It was Virat Kohli's promising 116-run knock that guided India to revive their innings and post a competitive 250 after a middle-order collapse.
