Ben Stokes-led team will be looking to win the final Test in order to stop Australia from sealing their first away Ashes since 2001.
The English speedster Mark Wood joined the bandwagon by playing the iconic 'Barbie Girl' song after taking over the microphone during captain Ben Stokes’ pre-match presser. The press conference was held on the eve of the fifth and final Test of the 2023 Ashes, which will be taking place at The Oval from July 27.
The moment Stokes was looking to settle down into his seat during the pre-match press conference room at The Oval that is when he heard the 'Barbie Girl' song playing in the background. After witnessing this even reporters could not control their laughs while England's skipper looked confused by hearing the music. Stokes then came to know that it was his teammate Wood, who played this Barbie song.

The song 'Barbie Girl' is from the Hollywood film 'Barbie', which was directed by Greta Gerwig. The movie was released on July 21. Ever since the movie was released, it became a sensation grossing an astonishing USD 356 million in the first weekend itself. The movie also managed to give a tough challenge to Christopher Nolan's biographical thriller 'Oppenheimer', released on the same day.
Ben Stokes-led team will be looking to win the final Test in order to stop Australia from sealing their first away Ashes since 2001. Earlier, the 4th Test which was held at Old Trafford in Manchester ended in a draw due to prolonged rain.
Earlier, the England management declared an unchanged playing eleven for the fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia starting at The Oval from Thursday. Legendary bowler James Anderson, who will turn 41 during the fifth Test, has managed to retain his spot in the playing eleven despite taking only four wickets in his three Tests of the series so far.
