WATCH: Krunal Pandya's 4-wicket haul that scripted history in Australia
The 27-year-old picked up 4 wickets off 36 runs in the 3rd T20I on Sunday— the best figures by an Indian bowler/spinner in T20I cricket in Australia
Krunal Pandya got highly criticised for his inclusion in the Indian team after the Men in Blue lost the first T20I to Australia in Brisbane. The left-arm spinner turned out to be the costliest bowler for India as he conceded 55 runs in his four overs and failed to pick up a wicket. More painful was getting hit for three consecutive sixes by Glen Maxwell which was enough to shatter his confidence.
But just one game cannot decide any cricketer’s ability. Krunal returned stronger in Melbourne and when he arrived in Sydney, he just scripted history on the Australian soil. The 27-year-old picked up 4 wickets off 36 runs in the 3rd T20I on Sunday— the best figures by an Indian bowler/spinner in T20I cricket in Australia.
Beginning from D’Arcy Short, he went to remove Ben McDermott, Glenn Maxwell and then Alex Carry to claim his maiden 4-wicket haul. Pandya may have gone through a rough patch in the first match but he didn’t miss taking his revenge form Maxwell in the next two games.

The quick wickets disturbed Australia's momentum and they never really recovered, losing wickets at regular intervals in the second half of their innings. The Australians ended up scoring 164 runs in the first innings.
