Warner, Smith hit fifties as Australia post 347 in warm-up match
Chennai: Australia got valuable match practice with as many as 4 of their batsmen striking fluent half centuries to pile on 347 for 7 against Indian Board President XI in a warm-up match in Chennai.
Marcus Stoinis was the top scorer of the innings with his 60 ball 76-run effort that included 5 sixes.
Stoinis, who turned up for Kings XI Punjab during the last IPL season,also hit four boundaries in a display of power-hitting to guide the visiting side to a formidable score.
Batting first, Australia lost opener Hilton Cartwright for naught but David Warner (64), and captain Steve Smith (55) made sure there India tour began on a positive note.
Travis Head also scored a quick fire 65 off 63 balls.
For the Board President's XI, all-rounder M S Washington Sundar was the best bowler, taking two wickets and giving away just 23 runs while medium-pacer Kushang Patel also got two scalps.
