Mumbai News: One worker was killed, and another sustained serious injuries after they were struck by the car of Marathi actor Urmilla Kothare in the Kandivali East area.

A road accident involving Marathi actress Urmilla Kothare's car claimed the life of one worker and left another seriously injured in the Kandivali area of Mumbai early Saturday, officials said. The incident occurred around 1:45 am under the Poisar Metro station in Kandivali East, when Kothare was returning home after finishing her shoot.

According to police, the car, allegedly speeding, lost control and hit two labourers working on the roadside as part of Metro rail construction. "While one labourer succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital, the other is undergoing treatment," said an official from the Samta Nagar police station, as quoted by news agency PTI.

Kothare and her driver also sustained injuries but were saved as the car’s airbags deployed in time. "As per the preliminary information, the driver lost control over the speeding vehicle, leading to the accident," the official added.
