JSW Energy And O2 Power Finalize ₹12,468 Crore Mega Deal, A Game-Changer For India’s Renewable Energy Sector | Paisa Live

India’s renewable energy sector is advancing rapidly, with a major development involving JSW Energy acquiring O2 Power, a leading renewable energy company. JSW Limited finalized this deal for approximately ₹12,460 crore. O2 Power operates renewable energy projects totaling around 4,690 MW, with 225 MW set to commence production in 2025.

JSW New Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, signed an agreement with O2 Power, whose promoters include EQT Partners and Singapore-based Temasek Holdings. The valuation of O2 Power’s assets considers their operational capacity for the next 30 years, with electricity production costs estimated at ₹3.37 per kilowatt-hour.

JSW Energy CEO Sharad Mahindra stated that this acquisition, the company’s largest to date, will strengthen JSW’s position in India’s energy sector and enhance stakeholder value. Regulatory approvals, including from the Competition Commission of India, are underway.
