Virat Kohli Shares Throwback Pic To Extend B'day Wishes To Indian Team Head Coach Ravi Shastri

Kohli had his own special way of wishing 'Shaz' as he shared a special throwback picture featuring the two along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday extended his birthday wishes to head coach Ravi Shastri as the former all-rounder turned 58. Kohli had his own special way of wishing 'Shaz' as he shared a special throwback picture featuring the two along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. "Many seem confident but only few are brave. Happy birthday Ravi bhai. God bless," tweeted Kohli. Shastri has enjoyed a highly successful stint as the head coach with the 'Men In Blue', with the Indian team enjoying a golden phase in both test and ODI cricket under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. Shastri represented India between 1981 and 1992, doning the national jersey in 80 Tests and 150 ODIs. amassed  3830 runs in the red ball format and scored 3180 in limited-overs while taking 151 and 129 wickets respectively. Shastri who started off his international career as a lower-order batsman, eventually became an pretty successful opener, known for his stoic defence and calm temperament. In the ODI format, he was equally impressive and had won the Man of the Series award in the 1985 World Championship in Australia. It was also in the same year that he equalled Gary Sobers' feat of six sixes in an over during a Ranji Trophy game. Post-retirement, Shastri made his debut as a commentator and covered many ICC and Indian tournaments before being named as the team director of India and later became the Indian coach in 2017.
