Vegetarian Virat Kohli Shares Story On Instagram Of Him Eating 'Chicken Tikka'

The former India skipper posted a story on his Instagram handle where he posted a picture of a chicken tikka and wrote, You have really nailed this mock chicken tikka’.

India’s batting stalwart Virat Kohli is one of the most fittest athletes across the world. The kind of fitness cult he set among his colleagues is commendable. Being from a Punjabi household it was difficult for him to quit nonveg meals but then he did it successfully a few years ago. There was a time when he used to love eating butter chicken but then then he transformed himself into a vegan. But as per Kohli’s recent post, it does not seem that he has left eating chicken. The former India skipper posted a story on his Instagram handle where he posted a picture of a chicken tikka and wrote, You have really nailed this mock chicken tikka’.

Seeing his post, fans were left in confusion however there's a side to the story that certain fans failed to understand.

Earlier, Virat disclosed that he stopped eating nonveg meals because of an issue in his cervical spine. His body was producing a lot of uric acid and as a result, he had to make changes to his diet. According to Virat’s recent Instagram story, he was spotted eating 'mock chicken tikka', which is plant-based not animal-based. Hence, it remains a vegetarian dish.

The mock chicken Tikka is not made using chicken instead a lot of soy is used.

"Left eating meat just before the England Test series. In 2018, when we went to South Africa, I had a cervical spine issue while playing a test match. It compressed a nerve that was running straight to the little finger of my right hand. It gave me a tingling sensation and I could barely feel my little finger. I could not sleep at night and it was hurting like mad," Kohli stated in the Instagram Live session back in 2020.

"Then I got my tests done and my stomach was too acidic and my body was too acidic, creating too much uric acid. Even though I was taking calcium and magnesium, everything but one tablet was not sufficient for my body to function properly. So, my stomach started pulling calcium from my bones and my bones got weaker. That is why I stopped eating meat completely in the middle of England tour to cut down the uric acid and I have never felt better in my life, to be honest," he added.
