Varun Aaron hopeful for India comeback after performing well in Vijay Hazare trophy

Aaron has played 9 Tests and as many ODIs for India and has scalped 18 and 11 wickets respectively.

Varun Aaron is one of the fastest bowlers represented India in Test cricket. However, the irony is that he has been out from the team for quite a long time now. He last represented India back in 2015 against South Africa in Bengaluru and since then, he has been nowhere in the team selection scene.

Years later, the 28-year-old pacer has shown confidence about his return to the Indian dressing room. In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Aaron has scalped 10 wickets in five games, playing a crucial part in Jharkhand’s top performance in Elite Group C.

“Yes, it has been good and I am delighted to be bowling again with my old mate Rahul Shukla. We not just want to qualify but aim to win the competition.”

He is delighted by the fact that Jharkhand are playing their games in Chennai which has is the home to the MRF Pace Foundation. The Jharkhand team practised here ahead of the tournament while Aaron is hopeful for the desired advantage. “MRF is my second home,” he said.

Despite bowling well in the 2014-15 Test series against Australia, he was dropped after the Brisbane Test which came as a surprise for a few cricketing greats.

After getting dropped from the side, he even spent some time in England taking the field for Leicestershire in both first-class and List A matches.
