Umar Akmal lashes out at Pakistan media

Asks media to not blow up little situations

Umar Akmal lashes out at Pakistan media

New Delhi: Controversial Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal has requested the Pakistan media to support their team instead of blowing up every little situation.

Akmal himself has been on the receiving end of criticism from the Pakistan media for some time now for failing to perform consistently with the bat. The mercurial batsman is mostly in the news due to his antics on and off the field rather than his performances. Akmal, instead, trained his gun on the media and advised it to not focus on the problems.

“I would urge the Pakistani media to support Pakistani cricketers and help us in taking Pakistan cricket forward. The media needs to stop highlighting every little situation and making a big deal out of it,” he was quoted as saying by pakpassion.net.

Akmal also added that the negative stories affect not just the cricketers but also their families and Pakistani cricket as a whole.

“We cricketers have families too and it’s not nice for them to see negative stories being brought up and highlighted in the media. Our families struggle to cope with such controversies which our media seem to thrive on. It not only hurts our families but these stories hurt us cricketers and ultimately Pakistan cricket. I need support from the media and if I get that then you will definitely see positive results,” he further added.
