T20 World Cup 2021: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has said that conditions in the UAE during the T20 World Cup will be favorable for his team. We have been playing cricket here continuously for the last several years, Azam said. Playing here is like playing at home grounds for us. Most of the players in the team are well aware of the playing conditions here and we will be immensely benefited from it during the T20 World Cup. Pakistan will play their first match of the tournament on October 24 against India.

Captain Babar Azam said, "Playing in this T20 World cup in UAE is like playing in a domestic event for us. It has been our home ground for more than a decade now. While playing in the conditions here, some remarkable players have made it to the Pakistani team. While playing here we have not only beaten the top teams, but Pakistan has moved up to the first position in the T20 international rankings."

No international team has visited Pakistan for the past several years due to the deteriorating situation caused by terrorism. Pakistan plays most of its international series on UAE grounds itself.

Want to have a stronghold in T20 cricket

On playing in the T20 World Cup, Babar Azam said, "All the players in the team are super excited and enthusiastic about playing in the World Cup. In these favorable conditions, once again we would like to dominate in the short format of cricket."

I would like to inspire the team with my performance

Babar Azam said, "As the captain of Pakistan, T20 World Cup will be my first ICC tournament.

"Before this as well, I was a part of the team during the 2017 T20 World Cup title win. In this World Cup, I want to focus on motivating the team with my performance. We will try to become the first Pakistani team to win the ICC's major tournament in Asia."
