Suryakumar Yadav Watches Rohit Sharma's Record-Shattering T20I Ton From Hospital Bed- WATCH
IND vs AFG 3rd T20I: Suryakumar Yadav was watching Rohit Sharma's brilliant T20I innings
India registered 3-0 clean sweep over Afghanistan in their recent bilateral series at home. While the hosts had clinched fairly straightforward victories in the first two matches of the series to bag the series with a match to go, they were made to work hard in the final match of the series being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Even though India elected to bat first in the final match of the series, they were reduced to 22/4 in the fifth over at one stage.
From there on, it was captain Rohit Sharma's brilliance that took over. The Hitman who hadn't scored a run in the series before heading to Bengaluru, scored a sensational hundred to remain unbeaten on 121 off 69 deliveries as India posted 212/4. His record-shattering fifth T20I hundred was studded with 11 fours and 8 sixes. When even that was not enough to help India register a win, Rohit batted again in each of the two Super Overs and left his mark in a scarcely believable game of cricket at the end of which India eventually emerged victors.
Following India's win in the cliffhanger, a video surfaced on social media in which the world's number 1 ranked T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav was seen watching Rohit's ton from hospital bed. Notably, Suryakumar was ruled out of India's squad for Afghanistan T20Is owing to a sports hernia. He was watching the match after undergoing surgery. Rohit and Suryakumar are known to share a great bond and apart from being teammates in the Indian contingent, they also share the dressing room in the Mumbai Indians (MI) setup.
