On the first ball of the last over, with South Africa needing 16 runs to win, Hardik Pandya bowled a wide full-toss to David Miller. Miller managed a powerful hit towards long-off, where Suryakumar Yadav was stationed. Yadav sprinted to his left, catching the ball just before it could cross the boundary, skillfully avoiding stepping on the cushions. He juggled momentarily but managed to regain control, tossing the ball back inside the boundary as he momentarily went over the ropes.
