Shikhar Dhawan is leading the Indian team on the Sri Lanka tour
The Indian team is on a tour of Sri Lanka and is set to play a three-match ODI series from 18th July followed by three T20s. The team's reins have been handed over to Shikhar Dhawan. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has created this entire plan. For the first time ever under Ganguly's leadership, two separate Indian teams will be playing international cricket against two different countries simultaneously. Under Dhawan's captaincy, the Indian team will play a limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, while at the same time, the regular contingent (led by Kohli) is in England to play a five-match Test series.
Shaw to open the innings
In the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Prithvi Shaw is expected to open with Shikhar Dhawan. However, there are other options, too, in the form of Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Nitish Rana, and Ishan Kishan.
