Bangladesh Test Squad Vs South Africa: Shakib Al Hasan is all set to feature in his swansong series, as Bangladesh will be hosting South Africa for a two-match Test series starting October 21. Both sides have endured a series of disappointing results in their respecitve previous fixtures, and the Proteas will be playing their first Test match since August 2024.

Bangladesh are languising amongst the bottom-placed sides in the ongoing World Test Championship points table, and sit just above Pakistan, whom they defeated 2-0 last month.

South Africa, on the other hand, are coming off an intense white-ball cricket action and will be aiming to get their WTC 203-25 campaign back on track, with other sides making a huge stride in their quest to outposition India or Australia for a place in the final at Lord's Cricket Ground next year.

Zaker Ali Anik has been given a maiden national call-up, and the Bangla Tigers will be hoping to climb up from their 7th place position against Proteas, who are positioned at fifth.

A defeat for either of the sides will affect their slightest of chances of making into the final.
