PSL 2024: Shaheen Shah Afridi's Yorker Throws David Willey Off His Feet During Multan Sultans' Win Over Lahore Qalandars- WATCH

PSL 2024: Shaheen Shah Afridi's yorker threw David Willey off his feet during Multan Sultans win over Lahore Qalandars.

Pakistan's T20I skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi continues to leave an impression with his performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) even though his side succumbed to a defeat aganinst Multan Sultans on Wednesday (February 21). The left-arm pacer bowled a fiery yorker during a PSL fixture that proved to be too good for David Willey.

The incident happened during the Lahore Qalandars' fixture against Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium in which Lahore batted first and posted 166/5 in their 20 Overs riding on Rassie van der Dussen's half-century 54 off 37 and Fakhar Zaman's 41 off 36.

It was during Multan's successful run-chase that the aforementioned incident happened. Before the last ball of the 18th over Multan were 146/4 and needed 21 off 13. On the final  delivery, Afridi delivered as perfect a yorker as one can see in competitive cricket, blowing Willey off his feet, ending the batters' innings on 25 off 23.

PSL 2024: Zaman Khan Concedes 24 Runs Off 19th Over As Multan Win With An Over To Spare

A wicket off the last ball of the 18th over meant Lahore were pretty much in the game as Multan needed 21 off 12 balls. However, Zaman Khan did not bowl a tight 19th over by any stretch of the imagination and was taken to the cleaners by Iftikhar Ahmed who smashed him for Four, Four, Six, Six and Four off consecutive deliveries to win the match for his team. Iftikhar eventually finished on an unbeaten 34 off 11 deliveries.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan's contribution, however, deserves a special mention as he set the tone for the run chase upfront with his 82 off 59 deliveries, an innings studded with 9 fours and 3 sixes. The rest of the top-order wobbled but in the end it was enough for them to get over the line with 6 balls remaining.
