Sanju Samson is one Indian cricketer who enjoys a massive fan following, especially in Kerala, the state he hails from. Although he has been in and out of the Indian team for years now, the wicketkeeper-batter has still managed to make a large fan base for himself from a part of the country where not many have gone on to play for the country. An evidence of the same can be seen in a video doing the rounds on social media.

Captain Samson Fails With The Bat In Kerala vs Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy
Much to the disappointment of the fans though, Kerala skipper Samson failed to leave much of an impact with the bat, departing for 35 off 46 in Kerala's first innings after UP had been bowled out for 302 in the first innings. Overall, Kerala managed 243/10 in their first innings with the help of wicketkeeper Vishnu Vinod's 74 off 94. However, that wasn't enough for them to take a first innings lead. At Stumps On Day 3, UP find themselves in a very strong position at a score of 219/1 to extend their lead to 278 runs. Captain Aryan Juyal is batting on 115 while Priyam Garg remains unbeaten on 49.
Samson Named In IND vs AFG T20I Series
Meanwhile, Samson has been named in India's squad for the three-match series against Afghanistan beginning on January 11. The squad also witnesses the return of Rohit Sharma as the skipper with Virat Kohli also named in the squad. Both of them last's T20I was over a year ago in the semifinal of the 2022 T20 World Cup which the team lost to England.
