Match-winner Virat Kohli saves his 'best for the last'

Amidst criticism for his recent performances in the T20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli faced immense pressure. However, in the crucial IND vs SA T20 World Cup final, Kohli silenced his critics with a match-winning innings of 76 runs off 59 balls. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award and helped India recover to a decent total of 176/7 after early setbacks.

Rohit calls Virat Kohli 'champion player'

Rohit Sharma praised Virat Kohli, saying, "He is a champion player. He was clear before the start of the tournament about his role, and I am pleased with the way he batted in the final. I'm happy for him. This was the right time for him to retire from T20 cricket."

He further expressed, "Ever since I started playing in this format, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Now feels like the right moment to bid farewell to T20 cricket. I have cherished every moment of it."
