Rohit Sharma revealed that his blistering 122-run knock against South Africa in India's opening fixture is his favourite ton.
Team India's star opener Rohit Sharma was in the form of his life with the bat in the 2019 50-overs World Cup, England. In the mega-event, Rohit was not only the leading run-scorer with 648 runs, but the Mumbai Indian skipper also scripted history as he became the first-ever batsman to score five centuries in single World Cup edition.
His record-breaking feat: 122* vs South Africa, 140 vs Pakistan, 102 vs England, 104 vs Bangladesh, 103 vs Sri Lanka.
Rohit scored five tons during the 2019 World Cup. This included a remarkable 140 that he attained against arch-rivals Pakistan but the star opener revealed that his blistering 122-run knock against South Africa in India's opening fixture is his favourite ton.
"My favourite hundred in the World Cup was against South Africa in the first game that we played. Although it was a low total, the conditions were quite challenging and their bowling attack was really good," said the 33-year-old in a video.
Rohit Sharma is also the only the third batsman in World Cup history to score 600 plus runs in a single edition of the tournament.
