'Ridiculous': Twitter Reacts As Marnus Labuschagne Is 'Allowed To Get Back Into Form' Before Ashes

Marnus was struggling with his form for quite some time but then he smashed 170 runs in just 207 balls and signaled a return to his form.

Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne has made a terrific comeback by scoring a century in county cricket.  The right-hand batter was struggling with his form for quite some time but then he smashed 170 runs in just 207 balls and signaled a return to his form. Since the WTC final and Ashes are on the card, it’s a good sign for Australia.

The right-hand batter's knock was stitched about in Glamorgan’s second innings in a Division 2 clash at Headingley against Yorkshire. Previously this year, he only managed to get only one half-century in the Border-Gavaskar series in India. The last time he made a ton was against West Indies in Adelaide in December where he collected 163 runs.

Post his heroics with the bat, LV= Insurance County Championship’s Twitter handle posted a match video where the Australian batter was spotted playing a few terrific shots. “The best of Marnus Labuschagne's 170. Some shots in here that's for sure”, they captioned the video.

Since the Ashes is set to happen on June 16, seeing Labuschagne's good form is a huge concern for the England side.  Keeping this in mind, one of the users made a cheeky reply by saying, “That’s right bat the Aussies in to form, ridiculous there aloud to come over in the first place!!!”.

“I have been a bit sort of all over,” Labuschagne told reporters.

“It hasn’t felt like it has come together until that innings. I hit a few nice straight drives, a couple of nice cover drives and a nice flick through mid-wicket. That’s probably the most I’ve felt balanced at the crease, I felt like my head position was in a nice spot, my bat path was coming down nicely.”

“For me it is taking it game by game and trying to build up that momentum that leads into the World Test Championship and the Ashes", he added.

Australia will play against India in the World Test Championship final at the Oval from June 7-11.
