'Records Are Meant To Be Broken': Babar Azam When Asked About India's 7-0 Dominance Over Pakistan In ICC Cricket World Cup

IND vs PAK: Babar Azam looked calm and confident ahead of Pakistan's high-pressure match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

India and Pakistan are set to lock horns in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 on Saturday, October 14, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the excitement is sky-high among the cricket enthusiasts. This particular fixture has stirred up tremendous excitement as it signifies the revival of their historic rivalry on Indian turf.

In preparation for the highly anticipated World Cup 2023 showdown between India and Pakistan scheduled for October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Pakistan Cricket Team has initiated its last training session before the tournament's most significant encounter.

Post the final training session for the upcoming clash, Pakistan's cricket team captain Babar Azam, sat for a press conference where he touched upon various topics.

Upon being asked about the pressure revolving around Pakistan losing all of the last seven ODI World Cup encounters against India, Babar said: "I do not believe in paying much attention to what has happened in the past. I try to remain focused about what's to come. Records are meant to be broken and our team has done wonderful in the first two matches and we hope to continue the momentum in tomorrow's match as well."

He was asked if the results of the clashes against India play a psychological role on the team, to which he replied, “Since the India-Pakistan game is always a high-intensity one, the communication within the group is usually around giving our best while executing our plans on the given day and enjoy the big opportunity that will be presented before us in front of the big crowd of Ahmedabad.”

On whether the warm-up games in Hyderabad and the subsequent league matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will help relatively less experienced Pakistan side getting attuned to the conditions coming into the epic clash against India, Babar Azam said, “Having spent one and a half week in Hyderabad, I have observed that every venue has a different behaviour, some offer help to the spinners and some to the pacers and then some are batting-friendly. We have planned accordingly and our time in India has definitely helped the planning process.”

The much-anticipated showdown between India and Pakistan in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled for October 14, is poised to be a thrilling spectacle for fans. What adds to the excitement is the pre-match ceremony, featuring live performances by mega-stars within the stadium.
