KL Rahul and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has been a hot topic over the past few months, especially the topic about KL Rahul’s future at the Lucknow-based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise after the heated altercation between Rahul and franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka during a match in IPL 2024. Since then, many speculations have been flying around. One of which was that Rahul may switch back to his former IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of the IPL season 2025.
Interestingly, this speculation received more wind after a video went viral on social media of some fans at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru chanting "RCB Captain, KL Rahul" when Rahul came out to bat for India A against India B on Day 3 of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match.

KL Rahul's Future At LSG Remains Uncertain Ahead Of IPL 2025
With the IPL 2025 mega auctions approaching, reports have emerged that RCB have shown interest in Rahul as they seek new leadership option, potentially moving on from South Africa’s Faf du Plessis, who has not been able to turn around the franchise’s fates as they continue to wait for their 1st IPL trophy.
Amidst the many rumours around the subject of KL Rahul and LSG, one was that the franchise was going to sack Rahul. However, the rumours were indirectly laid to rest by Goenka, earlier in the month, he said during a media interaction that he sees KL Rahul as family.
Since their IPL debut in 2022, LSG reached the playoffs in consecutive seasons. However, in IPL 2024, they fell short, finishing seventh on the points table with 7 wins from 14 matches, failing to progress beyond the league stage.
