Highest Partnership, Most Sixes & More: Ayush Badoni And Priyansh Arya Set New Records In DPL

South Delhi Superstarz batters broke numerous records in the DPL 2024 fixture on Saturday, as Priyansh Arya and Ayush Badoni both hit quickfire centuries.

In a record-breaking match of the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) on August 31 (Saturday), South Delhi Superstarz (SDS), led by Priyansh Arya and Ayush Badoni, set a new T20 benchmark with a colossal 286-run partnership against North Delhi Strikers (NDS) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In what was a sixes galore, Priyansh and Badoni spared no bowler with Priyansh smashing six consecutive sixes and Badoni contributing to the fireworks by hitting 19 sixes.

The team posted a total of 308/5 in 20 overs, surpassing the previous second highest T20 total of 287/3 by SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. While this new record is yet to be officially confirmed, it stands out in the history of T20 cricket, alongside Nepal's 314/3 in T20Is against Mongolia.

Priyansh Arya's Explosive 120-Run Knock Includes Six Sixes In Single Over

The 23-year-old Priyansh showcased his big-hitting prowess by smashing 120 runs off just 50 balls, including 10 fours and 10 sixes. He targeted North Delhi spinner Manan Bhardwaj in the 12th over, hitting six consecutive sixes.

Ayush Badoni Steals the Show with Record-Breaking 165 in DPL Opener

Meanwhile, captain Ayush Badoni outshone Arya's century by top-scoring with a remarkable 165 runs off just 55 balls. He hammered eight fours and 19 sixes, setting the highest individual score in the inaugural Delhi Premier League.

- Highest Partnership for Any Wicket in T20s: Priyansh Arya and Ayush Badoni set a new record with a 286-run stand, the highest partnership ever in T20 cricket.

- Most Sixes in a Single T20 Innings: Ayush Badoni broke Chris Gayle's record by smashing 19 sixes in a single innings. Gayle's previous record was 18 sixes during his unbeaten 146 in the 2017 Bangladesh Premier League.

- Most Sixes in an Over: Priyansh Arya joined an elite group of batters that includes the likes of TYuvraj Singh and Keiron Pollard by hitting 6 sixes in a single over.

- Most Sixes in a Single T20 Match: The team hit a total of 31 sixes, surpassing Nepal's previous record of 26 sixes in a T20 match.

- Second-Highest Total in T20s: South Delhi Superstarz posted a massive 308/5 in their 20 overs, marking the second-highest total in T20 history, just behind Nepal's 314/3 against Mongolia in the 2023 Asian Games.
