Prithvi Shaw Thanks Cricket Great For Putting Him Back On Track

Struggling cricketer Prithvi Shaw received crucial support from Sachin Tendulkar, who encouraged him to rediscover his early form. Tendulkar, a long-time mentor, expressed his continued belief in him.

Young cricketer Prithvi Shaw has been going through a tough time lately, both on and off the field. Once seen as a rising star in Indian cricket, Shaw has been out of favour due to poor form and some controversies.

Recently, he shared that cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who has known Shaw since he was a child, offered him some much-needed guidance and support.

Tendulkar encouraged me, says Shaw

Shaw said in an interview with News24 that he had a conversation with Sachin just a couple of months ago while practicing at the MIG Cricket Club in Mumbai.

Shaw was there training, and Sachin happened to be there too. The two had a chat, during which Tendulkar encouraged Shaw to get back on the right path, just like the player he used to be in his early days.

He described Sachin as his mentor and someone who has always believed in him. Shaw mentioned that Sachin knows his journey well, especially since Shaw and Arjun Tendulkar (Sachin’s son) have been friends since they were 8 or 9 years old. They’ve grown up playing cricket together, and Sachin has seen Shaw closely over the years.

“When you go through bad times or lose your way, you really need someone like a mentor to guide you,” Shaw said. “Sachin sir told me, ‘I still believe in you, and I will keep believing in you.’ He told me to return to the right path, the way I used to play before.”

Shaw said that these words meant a lot to him, especially because they came from someone who has watched his progress since childhood. He also shared that Sachin had confidence in his future and reminded him that there’s still a long career ahead – maybe another 13-14 years – if he works hard and stays focused.

Shaw planning a move from Mumbai to Maharashtra

In a major step forward, the out-of-favor star is also planning a move from Mumbai to Maharashtra ahead of the next domestic cricket season. He has requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to make the switch.

With support from someone like Tendulkar and a fresh start in domestic cricket, Shaw is hoping to get his career back on track.
