Despite his international retirement, MS Dhoni is one of the richest crickets stars in the world. There is hardly any decline in his fan following either. The wicketkeeper-batter only plies his trade for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the twilight years of his cricketing career but has still managed to lead them to glory. He was the captain of the IPL 2023-winning CSK squad despite playing with an injured knee. While it is not possible for many of his fans to visualise him in a corporate setup, working in an office, the fact remains that Dhoni started as a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) and was even offered a job in 2012, the offer letter of which has now gone viral.
Dhoni's whose net worth is estimated at 1040 crore Indian rupees as per several reports was offered a job with a monthly salary of Rs 43,000, with a dearness allowance of Rs 21,790 and a special pay of Rs 20,000. He was given an enhanced HRA of Rs 20,400, a special HRA of Rs 8,400 per month if in Chennai and Rs 8,000 per month if outside. A special allowance of Rs 60,000 per month with a newspaper and education expenses of Rs 175. His total salary came around Rs 1.7 lakh per month.

Dhoni reportedly received this job offer for the position of Vice President (Marketing) from India Cements after he was retained by CSK for Rs 8.82 crore. Former Indian Premier League head Lalit Modi shared the old appoinment letter on his Instagram while also slamming India Cements owner N. Srinivasan.
