'Humble...No Attitude': Pakistan Star Lavishes Praise For Virat Kohli

Contrary to popular belief among fans, Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah has shattered the generic view, asserting that despite being a big star, Virat Kohli is "very humble".

Indian batting star Virat Kohli's evolution as a player has been inspiring, establishing himself as one of the most successful and aggressive batsmen in modern-day cricket. The legendary Indian cricketer's batting prowess is synonymous with his notable on-field aggression, a trait that has garnered widespread attention on the global stage.

Contrary to popular belief among fans, Pakistani pacer Naseem has shattered the generic view, asserting that despite being a big star, Kohli is "very humble".

"Virat Kohli is such a big Star but he has no attitude. He is very humble and simple guy. When he is on the field, he is so focused and passionate but off the field he is very humble," Nassem Shah told Saama TV.

Naseem Shah, the promising young talent, is currently showcasing his skills in Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Islamabad United. The 21-year-old's participation in PSL 2024 signifies his return to the cricketing arena after a prolonged period of injury. Naseem underwent surgery following an injury sustained during Asia Cup, causing him to miss ODI World Cup 2024 in India.

As for Virat Kohli, reports suggest that he is presently in London, England, awaiting the birth of his second child. The former India skipper opted out of the entire IND vs ENG five-match Test series, citing personal reasons. Initially, Kohli declared his unavailability for the first two Tests, later extending his absence for the entire series due to personal reasons.

Naseem Shah on facing Virat Kohli on T20I debut in IND vs PAK match

Naseem Shah marked his T20I debut against India during 2022 T20 Asia Cup in Dubai, where he encountered the formidable Virat Kohli on the field. Reflecting on his experience, Naseem revealed that his previous exposure in Tests and ODIs equipped him to manage the intense pressure of the high-octane IND vs PAK fixture.

"I have good memories of my T20I debut against India. India versus Pakistan is the most important match when it comes to the crowds and intensity on the field and that was my debut match. I was naturally a bit nervous since it was my debut. But the good thing for me was that I had played a lot of cricket before, I had played Tests and ODIs, which helped me," Naseem said in the Islamabad United Podcast.
