'Mum Still Believes That I Shouldn’t Have Been Smashing The Glass': Dravid On 'Indiranagar Ka Gunda' Ad

The Indian team's head coach Rahul Dravid recited an anecdote when he shot an advertisement for Cred. Dravid was spotted portraying himself as  ‘Indiranagar ka gunda’, his mother couldn’t believe it. The former India skipper spoke about the reaction he got after the release of that advertisement. “There are people who look at me very differently now, thinking when is this guy going to explode. It’s been a really good, positive response. I wasn’t very sure about the reactions. But I think it’s been really well received”, India’s head coach said in a recent event.

“It’s been really positive expect for my mum. My mum is still not really convinced about it. I think she still believes that I shouldn’t have been smashing the glass. She’s like – you really think this is…?,” Dravid added.

“It is probably one of the most embarrassing things I have done – standing in Bombay in front of the street. Even though it’s an ad shoot and you know there are people around you, who are semi-actors or whatever they are. Still, for someone like me to stand in the middle of that road, keep screaming and shouting, was really embarrassing.”

Dravid is currently in West Indies as India will play their first Test match on Wednesday, July 12 in Dominica after a terrible loss in the World Test Championship Final last month to Australia. This is an all-format tour of the West Indies where India will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is.

The last time when India went to West Indies was in 2022 when the Men in Blue defeated the hosts 3-0 in ODIs and also won the five-match T20I series 4-1. Talking about the red ball format, this will be the first time when India will take on West Indies on their soil since 2019. With this Test series, India will also begin their campaign in World Test Championship Cycle (2023-25).
