MS Dhoni's Ruthless Batting In CSK's Training Session Ahead Of The IPL 2023 - Watch

On Thursday, CSK posted a video on its Twitter handle where former India skipper MS Dhoni was spotted batting and hitting huge sixes.

Ahead of the much-awaited IPL 2023, the Chennai Super Kings’ players have arrived in Chennai and started their preparations. The cash-rich league will be taking place on March 31, and CSK will start its campaign by playing against the defending champions Gujarat Titans at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

On Thursday, CSK posted a video on its Twitter handle where former India skipper MS Dhoni was spotted batting and hitting huge sixes. He smashed three sixes in the video that went to the long-off region while one has gone straight over the bowler's head. The 41-year-old  will be leading the CSK side again and this could be his last IPL.

"Thala Update! ", CSK captioned the post.

MS Dhoni made 232 runs in 14 matches in the last season of IPL with a strike rate of 123.40. He got a half-century in the opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The veteran player has scored 4,978 runs in 234 IPL matches. He might become the seventh batsman to score 5,000 runs in the tournament.

41-year-old Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket back in August 2020. Under his captaincy, CSK won the IPL in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. Last year, CSK had a rough outing as they lost 10 out of 14 matches in IPL 2023.

Earlier, in the IPL auction, CSK made some changes to their squad as they picked Ben Stokes, for INR 16.25 crore. Ajinkya Rahane and Kyle Jamieson were the other players roped in by the Super Kings in the auction. However, there are doubts whether Jamieson will play or not as he suffered a back injury. Ben Stokes on the other hand confirmed his participation in IPL 2023.
