Cricketer Mohammed Siraj Takes Charge As DSP In Telangana

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj took charge as the DSP in Telangana.

Cricketer Mohammed Siraj is now a DSP (Deputy Superintendent Of Police). The Indian fast bowler officially took charge as the DSP of Telangana in Hyderabad on Friday (October 11). The right-arm fast bowler was in the presence of the state's Director General Of Police (DGP) Jitender along with other high-ranking officials and picture of the same has also surfaced.

Notably, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy had announced in July a residential plot and a government job for Siraj when the Indian speedster met him after he starred in India's T20 World Cup win. Notably, Revanth Reddy had congratulated the Hyderabad fast bowler "for displaying his amazing talent in international cricket".

Mohammed Siraj Given Exemption From Educational Qualification

Notably, Siraj did not have the necessary educational qualification for the job but was granted exemption.

"For a Group-I job, the required educational qualification is a degree. Siraj has passed intermediate (12th class) but we have given the exemption to provide him the Group-I job," the CM said.

On the cricketing front, Siraj was last seen in action in India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The 30-year-old has also been named in India's three-match Test series against New Zealand and is set to be an important part of India's Test squad when the Men in Blue tour Australia for a five-match Test series.
