India’s veteran player Ravichandran Ashwin made a last-minute return to the Indian team that is set to take part in the upcoming World Cup 2023. On the back of his terrific bowling in the recently passed three-match ODI series against Australia, he ended up grabbing a place in the World Cup squad. Add to it, Axar Patel failed to prove that he was fully fit, and Ashwin made sure to capitalise on it.

Ashwin is currently slogging hard with the Indian team ahead of the high-octane event and one of his pictures made headlines where he was spotted playing the playing the reverse sweep in the nets. Seeing Ashwin’s picture, social media went berserk and fans started sharing funny memes.

Ashwin will lead the spin trio that has the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. The Tamil Nadu-based player is also a handy batter down the order and he will be looking to contribute with his willow as well apart from the ball.

On Sunday, the Men in Blue reached Thiruvananthapuram for the Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up fixture against the Netherlands. The moment Indian players came out of the airport, fans started cheering for them saying,  ‘India, India.'

India’s first warm-up game against England was called off due to heavy rain and they really want to take part in the second warm-up game in order to test their skills on Tuesday before heading into the main event. The Indian team is looking solid as they have all their key players on the side with the likes of KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shreyas Iyer making successful comebacks from long-term injuries.

The Indian team will start their World Cup campaign by playing against Australia on October 8 in Chennai.
