Meet UAE's Natasha Michael Cherriath: A Dhoni fan, national cricketer and cricket photographer

The Indian origin cricketer, who is also Dhoni's diehard fan, has turned into a freelance photographer along with playing cricket for her country

People may be unaware of her heroics but she holds a unique record of being the youngest ever to skipper a nation in international cricket. UAE’s Natasha Michael Cherriath achieved this feat a decade back when she led UAE women's senior team at the ACC women's championship at the age of 13.

It happened in the year 2007 when she took the onus of leading her side against Bangladesh Women. Unfortunately, UAE never faced a victory under her leadership but Natasha maintained her place in the team. In 2017, she played the ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifying Series Asia Region at Bangkok where UAE reached Women cruised into the finals but lost to Thailand by mere 34 runs.

With these ups and down, she is inching ahead in her career. The Indian origin cricketer, who is also Dhoni's diehard fan, has turned into a freelance photographer along with playing cricket for her country.

During a conversation with Wah Cricket, when she was asked about how does it feel capturing MS Dhoni in her camera, she said, “Whatever he does inside is special to me. If you are a cricketer, cricket photography becomes easier,”.

The 24-year-old admirer of Dhoni wishes to have a talk with her idol. But she is not sure that how that meeting would be.

"I wish I could. If I get a chance don't know I could be flat here,” smiles the cricketer who changed the picture of women's Cricket in the United Arab Emirates.
