Mashrafe Mortaza hospitalized after coughing blood

New Delhi: Bangaldesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza was rushed to hospital on Saturday morning after having said to have coughed up blood. Mortaza was taken for a routine check up in the Appolo Hospital in Dhaka by his family members after the early morning incident.

Debashish Chowdhury, the official doctor of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said that the condition wasn’t anything to worry about.

“There is nothing about his (Mashrafe) situation. He coughed up some blood in the morning and that’s why he went to hospital for checkup. His lungs have been checked and everything is fine now. He won’t have to be admitted in hospital,” he said

Mortaza’s health wasn’t in great shape for quite a few days and hence was scheduled for the check-up. However, the coughing of blood prompted his relatives to advance the dates of his check-up and go for the early treatment.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play against Australia in a 2-match Test series later this month and with Mortaza already having retired from Test Cricket, the 33-year-old will have plenty of time to get back in shape.
