Manoj Tiwary Scores Triple Ton For Bengal Against Hyderabad In Ranji Trophy
Tiwary became only the second Bengal cricketer to achieve the landmark in Ranji Trophy.
Bengal's domestic cricket stalwart Manoj Tiwary struck a triple century for his state team on Day two of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match against Hyderabad on Sunday. Batting with a ‘customised bat’, the prolific run scorer showed his pedigree by dominating the Hyderabad attack from the word go.
Tiwary became only the second Bengal cricketer to achieve the landmark in Ranji Trophy. Former India opener Devang Gandhi holds the record for scoring the first ever triple ton for Bengal in Ranji Trophy.
Tiwary produced a counter-attacking innings by taking on the Hyderabad seamers, hitting them to all parts of the park, hitting 29 fours and five sixes in his 412-ball unbeaten knock. The 34-year-old right-handed batsman had a bit of luck going in his favour as he survive a scare when Hyderabad’s Ravi Kiran dropped him in the 105th over of Bengal’s innings. Desperate for an outright win to keep their qualifying hopes alive, Bengal, who chose Kalyani over Eden Gardens, found the going tough early on to be reduced to 60 for three inside 15 overs.Number 27 Scored my 27th First class hundred today wit this special customised bat of mine wit my Son’s name engraved in it 🤗😍😘 He is also very happy to learn about Dad’s score 😉 pic.twitter.com/6XbqNpJJ80
