In the auction of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 on Saturday, close to 700 players came under the hammer at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Teams like Mangalore Dragons, Shivamogga Lions, Gulbarga Mystics, Bengaluru Blasters, Mysore Warriors, and Hubli Tigers competed to get the best players for their team in order to win the coveted Maharaja Trophy.
Players like Abhinav Manohar, Devdutt Padikkal, Mayank Agarwal, and Manish Pandey were the most expensive buys of the day. Manohar got roped in by Shivamogga Lions for 15 Lakhs while opener batter Mayank Agarwal went to Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters jersey for yet another campaign at a price of 14 Lakhs. Padikkal was included in Gulbarga Mystics for 13.2 Lakhs while the veteran batter Manish Pandey went to Hubli Tigers for 10.6 Lakhs.
The high-octane auction was a nail-biting affair and it kept the franchises and viewers on the edge. About 700 players from across the state were placed in four categories based on their credentials.
