Team India etched their names in the history books as they not one, not two, but three batting records in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Team India recorded the fastest team fifty on Day 4 of the IND vs BAN Kanpur Test and then went on to record the fastest team hundred minutes later.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 233 in 72.2 overs on Day 4, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal played aggressive shots from the word go. Rohit and Jaiswal powered India past the 50-run mark in just three overs, setting a new record for the fastest team fifty in Test cricket history, since data collection began.

India surpassed England’s record of the fastest team fifty in Tests which they recorded earlier in the Test against West Indies at Trent Bridge where they went past the 50-run mark in just 26 balls.

India Break Their Own Record For Fastest Team 100 In Tests

Moments after getting past the fifty-run mark, India achieved another record as they breached the 100-run mark in just 10.1 overs (61 balls), fastest by any team in the history of men’s Test cricket. Despite losing Rohit, India, with help of Jaiswal’s fifty motored along past the record.

India broke their own record for the fastest team 100 in Test cricket, previously set against West Indies in 2023 at Port of Spain, when they reached a century in 12.2 overs.

Later in the IND vs BAN Kanpur Test, Team India shattered the record for the fastest 150 in Test cricket history, achieving the milestone in just 18.2 overs. They surpassed their own previous best of 21.1 overs, set against the West Indies in the Port of Spain match, in 2023.
