Kuldeep Yadav's association with the Rovers Club ground began around 13 years ago, when he first put his foot on the green turf as a young lad aspiring to become a fast bowler like Pakistan seam bowling great Wasim Akram. However, his coach Kapil Pandey spotted a natural streak and talent in him to become a chinaman bowler.

New Delhi: With lockdown norms being eased a bit by the Union govt amid the COVID-19 pandemic, India's left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has resumed his training at the Rovers Club ground in Kanpur and is striving hard to sharpen his already potent spin bowling skills, besides curbing his natural instinct of applying saliva on the ball. With lock-down restrictions being eased out, and BCCI urging the cricketers to start their skill training complying  with the social distancing norms, Kuldeep under the tutelage of his childhood coach Kapil Pandey is leaving no stone upturned to hone his spin bowling skills at the Rovers Club ground. During the lockdown which began on March 23, Kuldeep was training quite hard on his maintaining his fitness levels at home. However, with the relaxation of norms under 'Unlock 1', the spinner is now sweating it out in the nets by practicing his spin bowling for 2 hours everyday. Kuldeep Yadav's association with the Rovers Club ground began around 13-14 years ago, when he first put his foot on the green turf as a young lad aspiring to become a fast bowler like Pakistan seam bowling great Wasim Akram. However, his coach Kapil Pandey spotted a natural streak and talent in him to become a chinaman bowler and rest as they say is history. This marked the very beginning of Kuldeep Yadav's cricketing journey which has seen him evolve as a top notch tweaker and arguably cement his spot as the number one spinner in the Indian cricket team. With the Indian team likely to go down to Sri Lanka and play a series against the sub continent rivals and Virat and Co. scheduled to take on Australia in their backyard at the end of the year, Kuldeep Yadav is preparing himself for the tours as and when international cricket resumes. Speaking exclusively to ABP News Sports Correspondent Kuntal Chakraborty, Kuldeep Yadav said that his body has recovered a lot on account of the forced break due to the COVID-19 induced lockdown. He exuded confidence that he is geared up for any of Team India's upcoming tours, be it the series against Sri Lanka or Australia. The spinner harped on the fact that that he had fared well the bowl during his last tour of Australia. Yadav expressed his desire to play four Test matches as well as the ODIs and T20s scheduled as part of India's tour to Australia. The spinner said that he is bowling it the nets based on how he intends to bowl in the different formats. The tweaker added that he intends to work more on his skills as he is coming back from a break. Kuldeep Yadav's Coach Kapil Pandey Gives His Take On The Left Arm Tweaker's Bowling Practice In The Nets Speaking to Kuntal on Kuldeep's training at the nets, his coach Kapil Pandey said that the left arm tweaker has been working very hard during the lockdown. Kapil believes that Kuldeep will be a dangerous customer with the ball in his hand during India's tour of Australia, planned to be held at the end of the year. He added that Kuldeep will be equally effective bowling with both the red and white ball. Besides focusing on strength and speed training, Kuldeep is working really hard on improving his line and length.
