KL Rahul Scores 100 At Lord's As Opener; Last Indian To Do So Was Ravi Shastri, 31 Years Ago
IND Vs ENG 2nd Test: After scoring the 100, KL Rahul has become the first opening batsman in this generation to be featured on the Lord's Stadium's Honours board.
India's stylish batsman, KL Rahul is receiving praise from all strata of cricket. KL's fellow Indian opener, Rohit Sharma even said that it is the best that he has seen Rahul bat. An Indian opener has scored a century a Lord's cricket stadium after 31 years. In fact, Rahul is only the third Indian opener ever to score a hundred at Lord's.
KL Rahul, at the end of Day 1 in London was batting on 127 not out. Before him, India's head coach Ravi Shastri had scored a hundred at Lord's as an opener in 1990. The two hundreds have come 31years apart. Before Shastri, only Vinoo Mankad had scored a hundred way back in 1952.
