KL Rahul Scores 100 At Lord's As Opener; Last Indian To Do So Was Ravi Shastri, 31 Years Ago

IND Vs ENG 2nd Test: After scoring the 100, KL Rahul has become the first opening batsman in this generation to be featured on the Lord's Stadium's Honours board.

India's stylish batsman, KL Rahul is receiving praise from all strata of cricket. KL's fellow Indian opener, Rohit Sharma even said that it is the best that he has seen Rahul bat. An Indian opener has scored a century a Lord's cricket stadium after 31 years. In fact, Rahul is only the third Indian opener ever to score a hundred at Lord's. 

KL Rahul, at the end of Day 1 in London was batting on 127 not out. Before him, India's head coach Ravi Shastri had scored a hundred at Lord's as an opener in 1990. The two hundreds have come 31years apart. Before Shastri, only Vinoo Mankad had scored a hundred way back in 1952.

 KL Rahul On Lord's Honours Board

India's new-found opening batsman, KL Rahul looks in sublime touch at the iconic Lord's stadium. After Mayank Agarwal got injured, India was in a disarray as to who would be the new opening batsman for India. KL has answers to all those questions now. He has become the first opening batsman in this generation to be featured on the Lord's Stadium's Honours board. It is a feat that is rarely achieved. 

KL Rahul is being lauded for his brilliant innings on Thursday. Rohit Sharma (83 runs off 145 balls) and KL Rahul (127* runs off 248 balls) brought out their A-game to attain a perfect record 126-run opening partnership - highest opening stand for India at Lord's since 1974
