IND vs BAN 2nd Test: Start Of Play On Day Two At Kanpur's Green Park Stadium Delayed Due To Rain

IND vs BAN 2nd Test: After an early stumps on Day 1, the start of play on Day 2 at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur has been delayed due to rain.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test: India are taking on Bangladesh in the second Test of the two-match series at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. While Day 1 witnessed 35 overs of cricket action on a rainy day with a heavy spell of shower forcing early stumps, the Day 2 of the Test match has now been delayed due to rain.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the same through an official post on social media. "The start of play for Day 2 in Kanpur has been delayed due to rains," their post on X read.

Team India Go Back To The Hotel

With conditions far from being fit enough for play at the moment, it is being learnt that Team India have gone back to their hotel. Notably, only 35 overs of action was possible on the opening day of the IND vs BAN 2nd Test. India won the toss and elected to field first for the first time in nine years in a home Test after a delay in the start because of a wet outfield due to overnight rain.

Akash Deep then scalped two wickets in the first session for Team India, removing both the Bangladesh openers. Ravichandran Ashwin got rid of the Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for 31 shortly after which play was stopped due to bad light. There was downpour that followed forcing the umpires to call early stumps with the Bangladesh scoreboard reading 107/3 with Mominul Haque (40*) and Mushfique Rahim (6*) out in the middle.
