The 26th edition of the club-level one-day tournament started on 1 September 2021 in Mohali. The JP Atray tournament is said to have a big influence on the selection of players in the domestic teams in India. Senior cricketers like Irfan Pathan played in this tournament.
Chetan Sharma, the current head of the selection committee was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the tournament. The 50-over tournament started with CAG Delhi vs UTCA Chandigarh.
