Joe Root 'warns' David Warner before Ashes 2019

David Warner has received a warning from England Captain Joe Root. According to Root, Warner will face a hostile reception from English crowd if the Aussie batsman features in Ashes, scheduled to take place next summer

After having been involved in multiple disputes, another incident has been added to David Warner's career. The 32-year-old has received a warning from England Captain Joe Root. According to Root, Warner will face a hostile reception from English crowd if the Aussie batsman features in Ashes, scheduled to take place next summer.

The left-handed opener is currently serving a one-year ban from all formats of the game after he was found guilty in the ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town, South Africa, earlier this year. Along with Warner, his teammates, Captain Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were also suspended for the same.

"I'm sure he will have to accustom himself to what might be a slightly hostile environment from the English public but we'll have to wait and see what happens when he comes over in the summer, if he does," said Root.

"I wouldn't wish that upon anyone but time will tell as to what happens in the future."

Warner made headlines once more over the weekend. In a bizarre incident, Australian cricketer David Warner walked off the pitch in the middle of his innings because of sledging during a grade match in Sydney on Saturday.

Warner’s walkout halted the game for a few minutes and was only resumed when he decided to come back. The umpires and the Western Suburbs captain allowed Warner to resume his innings after the latter had regained his composure.
