When Will Jay Shah Assume The ICC Chairman Role?
Jay Shah, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, was elected unopposed as the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), but when will his ICC chairmanship tenure begin?
Jay Shah, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, was elected unopposed as the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 27 (Tuesday). This happened after the current ICC chairman Greg Barclay announced on August 20 that he will not seek a third term and will be stepping down from the post after the conclusion of his tenure.
With Jay Shah set to take over as the new ICC chairman, this makes him the fifth Indian to take the post of the chairman of the world’s apex cricket body after Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan and Shashank Manohar.
