Jasprit Bumrah Successfully Avoids Tripping Over Ravi Bishnoi On Injury Comeback In IND vs IRE 1st T20I- WATCH
IND vs IRE 1st T20I: Jasprit Bumrah avoided tripping over Ravi Bishnoi as the two attempted to save a boundary during the Ireland innings.
It was a memorable comeback in international cricket for Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm speedster was playing his first international match in 327 days, last donning the India Blues in September last year. There were several speculation on whether he would be able to have the same impact like he did when he sustained that injury. However, early signs show that Bumrah is back at his best and there is nothing to worry as far as his form is concerned.
Leading the side in this game, Bumrah came in to bowl the first over of the innings and after being hit for a boundary off the first ball, returned to scalp two wickets in his first over on comeback. While he got rid of Andrew Balbirnie with a superb inswinger which produced the inside edge of the batter and shattered into the stumps, his second victim was Lorcan Tucker who was caught behind.
While Bumrah did manage to impress on his comeback and eventually was adjudged the Player of the Match as India clinched a 2-run win in the series opener at the Village in Dublin on Friday (August 18), there was a moment in the match where he could have injured himself again. A viral video now shows him managing to avoid tripping over Ravi Bishnoi. The incident happened as the two were trying to save a boundary during the Ireland innings. While Bishnoi put in a dive, Bumrah was also behind the ball and had to jump to avoid tripping over the spinner.
Despite Bishnoi getting his hands on the ball, he could not keep his body in the field of play implying a boundary for Ireland and Curtis Campher (39).

Meanwhile, riding on an unbeaten fifty from Barry McCarthy (51 off 33) aling with Campher's 39, Ireland put on 139/7. In the run chase, India were 47-2 in 6.5 Overs but were 2 runs ahead of their DLS target at this stage and were declared winners when rain made no further play possible. Other than Bumrah's 2/24, Bishnoi (2/23) and Prasidh Krishna (2/32) also impressed with the ball for the visitors while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad chipped with 24 and 19* respectively in India's curtailed effort with the bat.
Craig Young's five balls produced both the Indian wickets to fall with Jaiswal and Tilak Varma getting out on successive balls with Varma not managing a run in this game.
